Your AI Morning Briefing
Calendar, Tasks, Email, News — One Command
What You'll Build
The morning-brief skill is production software. It runs every day. It pulls calendar events, outstanding tasks, email scan, and a news check — then surfaces them in a single structured output before the working day starts.
This course documents how it was built, how each data source plugs in, and how to adapt it for your setup. You do not need to use every integration. The modular approach means you can start with two data sources and add more when you're ready.
- The problem — Why the morning app-hopping ritual is costing you time you don't notice losing, and what the alternative looks like.
- The skill anatomy — What goes inside a morning-brief skill, how the data sources feed in, and the sequencing that makes it reliable.
- The integrations — AppleScript for calendar, CLI tools for tasks, mail-triage for email, Brave search for news. Each one is a self-contained module.
- The customisation — How to adjust the output format, what to include or leave out, and how the daily-prep companion sets up the next day's briefing.
Every module draws from a working system. The skills referenced here — morning-brief, daily-prep, mail-triage, social-briefing — exist in production and run on real data.
Time commitment: About 2 hours total. Module 1 is free. The rest requires membership.

The Daily Dashboard Problem
You check email, calendar, tasks, Slack, news — each in a different app. By the time you've done your morning scan, 45 minutes are gone and you haven't started work. What if one command gave you everything?
